I still don’t know why all this things catch our attention so badly, but it does. Every time we find a celebrity in a casino, we feel the need to take pictures, tweet about it, make it public. As if they wouldn’t have the right to have fun and enjoy their lives. And certainly they have the money to allow themselves a crazy night in the casinos. Some people say he was playing at a blackjack table, where the minimum hand was $10.000. But what is this sum for someone who has made around $200m during his professional career? Who are we to judge anyone who has his gambling hobbies under control? He is a well respected NBA player, with over a decade of bright trajectory.

Maybe because we are under the influence of previous news about celebrities losing all their money in addictions like gambling or drug abusing, we tend to criminalize certain activities from celebrities. Like, a famous actor gets drunk at a party and makes a little fool of himself. So what? Most of us have got drunk sometimes in our lives. And we wouldn’t like our drunk face in the front page of tomorrow’s paper, would we?

Some people think that behind these cases reaching the news, there is also a hidden interest from the casinos. It’s definitely an incredibly good and free publicity. The fact that some celebrities let themselves be seen in a casino, automatically boosts the interest of certain kind of people in your casino, and this means new customers. I don’t know why is that, but there is something about celebrities that still captives us.

So to sum the story. Ray Allen had fun at a casino in Vegas. He probably lost several thousands of Dollars. He probably drank alcohol. He probably smoke a cigar. And he probably had many beautiful women around. Who wouldn’t like to be like Ray Allen?
